Child Maintenance

Child Maintenance

The Child Maintenance Service (CMS) is the Government body responsible for determining maintenance payments for children.

Child maintenance is regular, reliable, financial support paid towards the child’s everyday living costs by the parent who does not have the day to day care of the child.

The Child Maintenance Service (CMS) calculation will take into account the number of children in the relationship, or another relationship, the absent parent’s gross income and the amount of overnight stays the child has with the absent parent per year.
