Aimee is a Solicitor and joined Family Law Group in April 2016. She works in the Chesterfield office within the matrimonial department and specialises in private law children, divorce proceedings, finances and injunctions. Aimee also provides assistance and advice to those clients that qualify for Legal Aid and victims of domestic abuse.
Aimee joined the firm as a Paralegal within the Civil Legal Aid team and then progressed into the matrimonial team, where she was awarded a training contract. Having completed her law degree in 2013, Aimee then went on to study for the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School and completed this with a distinction in 2017. Aimee qualified as a solicitor in October 2020
It has always been Aimee’s ambition to practice in family law because of the personal aspect that this area of law provides. Aimee comments that “building up good working relations with clients and helping them in difficult times is something that I have always felt I could achieve through family law.” For these reasons, Aimee is one of the firms’ key advice surgery providers and works with the Mary Potter Centre and Nottingham Women’s Centre to provide legal advice at a monthly advice surgery.
Aimee always aims to provide empathy to her clients so that she can guide them through the legal process and ensure that they fully understand it. She feels that this ensures her clients get the most out of the meeting and Aimee can then advise them on the best way forward.
Outside of her career, Aimee enjoys socialising and sees her friends and family most nights. She also goes to the gym and then makes up for it by baking brownies and anything chocolate based!
