Julia is a Solicitor and joined Family Law Group in January 2019. She works in the Milton Keynes, Bedford and Northampton areas and specialises in divorce proceedings, finances and children matters.
Julia began her legal career in 1988, when she joined a legal firm as a legal secretary and shortly after this, decided to undertake a law degree through the Open University. After completing her Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours in 2007, she then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course (LPC) with the College of Law in Bloomsbury, London for which she achieved a commendation. It was at this time that Julia became a member of Resolution and also spent several years volunteering at Milton Keynes Citizens Advice Bureau as a generalist adviser.
Julia has now joined Milton Keynes Family Law as she feels passionately that “the more vulnerable people in society should be protected and that access to justice should be available to all.”
Clearly passionate about a career in law, Julia commented that she embarked on this career to help people during a difficult time in their lives, and having been through a divorce herself, recognises how much people need help during this time.
On a day to day basis, Julia likes the variety of work that a career in law can bring. During a typical day she can be attending court, meeting clients, writing divorce papers and helping people to escape unhappy situations. She comments that she is proud to bring determination, patience and passion to the role of helping her clients.
Outside of her career, Julia attends a weekly Somatics class locally and spends a lot of time with her family, grandson and friends. She also likes to watch films and occasionally goes to aerobics or Zumba to keep fit. Julia also runs a not for profit Ju Jitsu class in Aylesbury and has been training in this self defence since 1984, having now attained a 3rd degree black belt.
