William is a Solicitor who joined Family Law Group in September 2016. He originally joined the firm as a Paralegal, working as part of the Civil Legal Advice line team before qualifying as a Solicitor in September 2020.
He works from the Derby and Chesterfield office but also has cases in the Nottingham area. He undertakes work in domestic abuse cases and children matters including both private law and public law cases.
William completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Law and the Law Practice Course at Nottingham Trent University whilst working part time with Family Law Group. He obtained a commendation in his Post Graduate Diploma in Law and a Distinction in his Law Practice Course.
He has over eight years’ experience of working with vulnerable families and their children in the community. For William, this provided him with “invaluable experience in understanding the difficulties that parents have when they separate and how best to try and resolve these issues.” It has also given him a detailed understanding of how Local Authorities work with families that they are involved with.
William says that he chose to become a solicitor as he is passionate about the law and getting the best outcome for his clients.
Outside of his career, William enjoys rock climbing both indoors and outdoors and playing both the trumpet and piano to Grade 8 standard.
