Sarah is the HR Manager and joined Family Law Group in May 2006. She works at the Nottingham office and manages all areas of HR including the induction process for all new members of staff, employment contracts, the recruitment of new legal staff and all of the firms’ HR policies and procedures. She is also involved in the implementation of a new HR system for the firm.
Sarah first joined the firm as a legal secretary and undertook the early stages of CILEx and completed the family legal practitioner’s course. Originally, it was her plan to become a legal executive but the firm opened their mediation department and she was given the opportunity to become involved in this area. Sarah then undertook a life coaching diploma to compliment the mediation service offered to clients. More recently she has taken on the role of HR Manager and is currently studying a HR Diploma Level 3 alongside this new role.
Having now been with the firm for 13 years, Sarah says, “Family Law Group has provided me with great development opportunities, which has enabled me to expand my skills and knowledge. I have watched the firm expand from just one office to where we are now, which is great and I am proud to be an employee of the firm and excited about being part of its future and expansion.”
To further support her HR experience and training, Sarah is member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
In her role, Sarah is constantly dealing with people and so, has great people and communication skills. She has seen the company develop and has been with the firm for a long time and it is this understanding of its core values that makes her great in her role. She is also keen and enthusiastic to implement better procedures for the staff and business.
Sarah is the firms’ first dedicated HR manager and is enjoying the challenge of looking at how to improve on the existing HR processes in place. This gives her a huge sense of achievement.
Outside of her career, Sarah enjoys cycling, reading and walking her two dogs, Danny and Ollie.
