Gary completed his training contract in 2016. During his training contract Gary gained valuable experience in all areas of public law children cases and adult social care cases. Gary continued to specialise in care and adoption proceedings as a Solicitor after completing his training contact, as well as dealing with Judicial Review matters.
Gary obtained his Higher Rights of Audience (Civil) in February 2016, and conducts his own advocacy in the High Court, County Court and Magistrates’ Court. Gary was appointed to the Law Society Children Panel in June 2019.
With a clear dedication to his clients, Gary commented upon being a Solicitor Advocate that he enjoys the forensic analysis of evidence, in particular the challenge of ensuring that everything ties up to make a strong case. He uses this detailed forensic approach to evidence to present his client’s case and to ensure a successful outcome for his clients.
Gary aims to be approachable and friendly towards his clients and believes that this helps to put them at ease and ensure they are able to provide him with enough information to put a strong case forward before the Court. Another aspect of his role that he enjoys is the Court and advocacy work as it allows him to use his skills and knowledge against other legal professionals to obtain a good outcome for his clients.
Outside of his career, Gary has played National League Hockey and has done so since 2013. Amongst his achievements in hockey include winning national championships with Reading Hockey Club and playing at Wembley Arena.
BT & GT (Children: Twins - Adoption) EWFC 76- Gary represented a prospective adopter in proceedings where a Local Authority had separated twins and placed them separately for adoption.
