Emilie works as a solicitor in the Cambridge office and joined Family Law Group in October 2020. She works on all aspects of family law, specialising in children matters and domestic abuse cases.
Emilie commenced her professional education by obtaining a First Class History degree at Warwick University. It was whilst volunteering at a Law Centre that her passion for social justice was sparked and she then chose to pursue a legal career. She studied her Graduate Diploma in Law whilst working and volunteering at Cambridge Citizens Advice Bureau, then completed her LPC at the College of Law, achieving a distinction in both. During her training, Emilie decided to specialise in family law as she was motivated to help people through the most difficult of personal circumstances. After qualifying, Emilie worked at a niche family law firm in Exeter where she specialised in child abduction and other matters with an international element. She loves being part of a specialist team and working with colleagues with such a broad range of experience. She also volunteers at Anglia Ruskin Law Clinic.
Emilie is passionate about providing the best service for her clients. She seeks to provide clear and child-centred advice, and particularly feels that it is important to be honest and pragmatic with her clients. She is known for her calm and empathetic manner, but is tenacious when it comes to fighting her client’s case.
Outside of work, Emilie loves exploring the coast and countryside with her husband, young son and border terrier. She spends as much time as possible in the sea, having been born and brought up on the island of Jersey.
