CLA Paralegal Northampton

Family Law Group is an established legal practice specialising in all areas of family law including divorce & separation, child arrangements & social services, care proceedings, matrimonial finance & property, mediation, collaborative law, forced marriage and domestic abuse injunctions.

We have an exciting opportunity for driven and talented candidate with a passion for family law and social justice to join our firm as a CLA Paralegal on a full-time basis in our Northampton office within our Civil Legal Advice Contract team.  

We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

About the Role

The role will involve providing client support within the legal team and serve on our specialist Telephone Advice Contract. Other key aspects of the role include attending upon clients, drafting documents, and direct casework. The role is offered on a 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday basis initially however there may be a requirement to cover some unsociable and flexible working hours including some Saturday mornings at a later stage.

We are looking for someone who will work diligently and professionally in pursuit of our clients’ instructions. You should be capable of prioritising work in such a way as to ensure that the firm’s caseload is progressed efficiently and so, excellent clerical and administration skills will be required. The role involves other necessary tasks to aid in the progression and management of client cases, including an excellent telephone manner, filing, checking post and preparation of files for archive.

The role is varied within a busy legal practice and so there will be other duties to perform as required by the firm or your supervisor.

As well as gaining invaluable experience within a professional legal firm, you will benefit from the opportunities provided within a busy team working on a varied caseload in all areas of family law matters.

Key Requirements

2:1 Law Degree

Completed or undertaking the Legal Practice Course

Excellent communication skills

Passion for family law and social justice

Paralegal experience is preferred

Hours of work: 9am - 5.30pm Monday – Friday

Salary: National Minimum Wage
