Experienced Childcare Paralegal
The role
Family Law Group is a leading firm of family law Solicitors specialising in all areas of family law including divorce & separation, child arrangements, care proceedings, matrimonial finance & property, cohabitation disputes, mediation, collaborative law, forced marriage and domestic abuse injunctions.
A vacancy has arisen for a highly experienced childcare paralegal to join the children’s department at our Derby or Nottingham office. This role will involve providing client and solicitor support within the childcare team, attending on clients, submitting applications for Legal Aid, drafting legal documents (for example Part 25’s and Statements) and completing direct casework.
The role involves other necessary tasks to aid in the progression and management of client cases, including an excellent telephone manner, diarising important upcoming dates, filing, checking post and preparation of files for archive.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of supporting solicitors in the day-to-day management of their work. Good communication skills and excellent clerical and administration skills are essential.

Key requirements
- Enhanced knowledge of all aspects of casework and representing parents and children in care proceedings
- Experience of drafting Statements and Part 25’s
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Passion for family law and social justice
- Hours of work: 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday – Friday
